Locals witnessed giant hailstones reaching sizes of 7 centimeters in some areas. Meteorological experts announced that different parts across Queensland had been impacted by substantial ice precipitation.

Emergency response teams handled 598 calls for help across the area, primarily for building damage but also for downed trees and water accumulation.

Weather Forecast

Humid circumstances were forecast to persist along much of eastern Queensland this next several days as a weather pattern continued to pull in damp air against the shoreline.

Tomorrow was predicted as the most rainy day, with continued thunderstorm potential predicted across different parts of both areas.

Health Warning

Public health experts warned that there was an increased chance of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the northern rural areas, particularly given the existing atmospheric conditions.

This caution comes after past events where similar conditions led to substantial respiratory problems in the region.
